I started seeing David during IVF treatment following two failed transfers. The transfer I had during treatment was successful and I now have healthy 5 month old twins who went full term. I saw David pre-transfer and for several months during pregnancy, I found the treatment during pregnancy massively helpful with morning sickness and fatigue and I am sure the treatment had an impact on the pregnancy itself. David is very professional, kind and supportive. I found the treatment so so helpful and I would highly recommend David.

I looked into acupuncture because I discovered I had hypothyroidism and unbalanced hormones, and I was also concerned about the impact this would be having on my fertility as I approached 40. From the outset, I felt at ease and comfortable with David. He has a calm and level-headed demeanour, and he took the time to understand my unique circumstances beyond the physical problems that could be affecting my wellbeing, before tailoring his acupuncture treatment to my specific needs. I continued to see David weekly at both his Hemel Hempstead and Berkhamsted clinics for about 3 months while he supported me through a difficult relationship I was having. I would notice a build-up of tension throughout the week, but that would disappear after his sessions, and week by week this tension left me completely. What I realised from my treatment with David was that the most significant problem I was having was more to do with my emotional conditioning as a result of past relationship trauma. I have no idea how his acupuncture treatment works, but it has literally changed my life and within 4 months, I felt back to the person I used to be – before a significant emotional ordeal I’d gone through a few years earlier. I continued to see David monthly, and without any medical intervention, my stress hormones had regulated, and my thyroid levels and antibodies had significantly improved. I believe that was the knock-on effect of David’s treatment, and that by healing my emotional state of mind he also rebalanced my body physically. Several months after starting my treatment with David, I was told that I would struggle to conceive naturally and that I would likely need IVF, so David spent my following session focusing purely on fertility. While I had begun to make peace with the idea of not ever having a biological child, I decided it was still worth trying a treatment with him. To my absolute surprise, I fell pregnant naturally that same cycle. I’m now 41 years old and 32 weeks along with my first baby and so far, having a smooth pregnancy with no complications. I truly believe that David’s treatment has altered the course of my life for the better by rebalancing my mind and body and enabling me to completely move on from past trauma that I’d learned to live with by staying in what I can only describe as a kind of emotional “safe/sleep" survival mode. I had no idea his treatment was going to help me in such a profound way, and I can honestly say that putting my trust in him is one of the best decisions I ever made.

I started seeing David for Acupuncture since April 2019 for my condition, Graves Disease which had an imbalance of an overactive thyroid at the time. I was adamant not to use the synthetic drugs on this occasion as I previously had done so but gained weight and had mood swings as a result. Upon meeting David in Hemel Hempstead, I was greeted with a warm handshake and reassuring smile which put me at ease immediately.

The acupuncture itself was tailor made to specific pinpoints on Davids findings through discussion. Each session lasts for approximately 1 hour and I was left feeling vitalised and hopeful.

Fortunately I need to have regular blood tests to see if my levels on my thyroid (TSH and T4) had changed and after just 10 weeks of acupuncture treatment, my T4 level had moved to the normal range! I've continued using David, slowly spreading the appointments out over time and my recent blood test results in October 2019, for both my T4 and TSH, have come back normal! I'm so delighted with the results as I had previously in the past been on medication for nearly two years to balance those readings out.

Obviously everyone is different and may or may not work for all but I am a firm believer that this acupuncture with David has done wonders - in fact in my eyes it's more of a miracle having gone through a different process in the past.

I'll continue visiting David to keep 'topped up' not only for the acupuncture but also for the interesting chats and friendly ear. I call David my Guru!

I Saw David at his Hemel Hempstead Clinic near Berkhamsted for fertility issues. My treatment was very successful and I cannot recommend David and the Five Element Acupuncture enough. My recommendation is to see David regardless of what health issues you may have. David with his professional and non judgemental approach works on your emotional well being as well as treats physical symptoms. I honestly don't know where to start with this review simply because I want to ensure to give David the enormous amount of credit that he deserves. After a 10 week programme with david I fell pregnant (ivf) within 1 month, after having had 1 failed IVF attempt and trying to conceive naturally for years while working with a TCM acupuncturist. Our beautiful baby is now here and words can not expressed how thankful I am having had the opportunity to work with David and for his endless support during my pregnancy. I would recommend him to anyone, not only for fertility treatment, with complete confidence. Learn from my experience and do not waste you money, time and energy going to anyone else. Previous to David I worked with a TCM acupuncturist(s) for over two years. Unlike with my previous TCM acupuncturist David was able to: 1. Provide a timeline (10 weeks) for his treatment plan. 2. Identify the source of my fertility problem (during my 1st treatment) 3. I was asked to pay more for 'talking' through my problems with my previous acupuncturist due to it being seen as over and above their acupuncture service as suppose to it going hand and hand with Davids. Having ivf treatment in London Harley street and living in Berkhamsted. I loved having the reassurances that I could visit David both close to home and close to my ivf clinic. David also helped me with anxiety during my pregnancy. While helping work through childhood issues that were still holding me back from moving forward in life. The list really could go on…. I came to see David at his Hemel Hempstead acupuncture clinic with plantar fasciitis, which is extremely bad heel and ankle pain, it had been continual for the better part of a year, having tried all manner of other therapies, acupuncture was my last resort, I have always been sceptical of this therapy, with absolutely no evidence to back myself up. It was a therapy that I felt may be good for a small number of ailments, but heel pain, not a chance. However David deals with a number of different therapies within the acupuncture field and his treatment was varied, thorough and professional. At the same time he dealt with various emotional issues which were in my life at that time. After the first session, I have to say I was amazed at the improvement enabling me to walk normally with some degree of comfort, after the first session, it continued to improve, and after 6 sessions I was now experiencing completely pan free walking. I am writing this review 6 weeks after my last appointment with David, and am still pain free and walking 4 miles every other day.

I decided to go to him for acupuncture trestment as I had been having a few fertility problems and I also had a miscarriage last year. I have been diagnosed with PCOS more than a year ago and my period was getting worse and worse. We were trying for a baby for almost year and half and the acupuncture with David was my last hope to get this sorted out naturally. I first went to David for my arm/ shoulder which had been causing me ongoing pain for a good 10 years. I was getting pain almost everyday of some kind varying between mild and severe but nothing seemed to work. I was suffering from IBS, abdominal pain, lack of appetite and bloating for 3 months, pills weren't helping and before I knew it, I started avoiding eating all together. Thankfully, something made me look up into alternative medicine and acupuncture seemed to be the preferred method. I've never been to one before and I had no idea what to expect. I wasn't even skeptical, I just wanted to try anything that will make the pain and stress go away. The moment the first session was over I took the train back home and in less than an hour I felt hunger (I haven't felt hungry for months so I was ecstatic).
